President Extend Lagos, Ogun and Abuja lockdown

Buhari: This is not a joke, it is a matter of life and death.

As President Buhari extends the lockdown order in Lagos and Ogun as well as the federal capital territory for fourteen more days, let’s not forget that we’re all citizen of this country, and there are things we can do to lift the human spirit during this lockdown period, things that are easy, things that are free, things that you can give, things that you can do every day. Civility, respect, kindness, character.

It doesn't matter if you're a PDP, APC, APGA, or DPP.  You only have to be modestly intelligent to recognize that this is a cogent and articulate speech for having a pandemic response plan to the pandemic situation.

You’re too good for schadenfreude, you’re too good for gossip & snark, you’re too good for intolerance—as we have listened to the address of president Buhari, it’s worth mentioning that we should try not to start pointing out the mistakes in his speech but rather try to find lasting solutions to win this war.

However, having gone through the president’s speech sequel to channels TV breakdown on #PoliticsToday, I am particularly hopeful of the positive impact on the 14 days extension but in doubt of its tentacles cutting across areas as it relate to smes and private companies after the pandemic.

It is factual that a lot of people will be laid off their job and a lot of infant businesses that haven't gone beyond break-even may fold up, the implications therefore is that; private enterprise may suffer  devastating blow and particularly have difficulties finding stability again.
