The oil spillage was first noticed by the people living in shell road, and efforts has been made to reach the appropriate channels of the oil company nearby.
The affected houses was said to have made a complaint to the management of seplat petroleum development company, some weeks back. On arrival of seplat delegates, they carried out some tests and said they would be back to carry out further tests and asked the affected houses to come for a meeting in their office.
The occupants of the affected houses are currently making a plea to the company and the community leaders, as the situation is getting worse by the day.
They are said to be suffering and lacking clean water for drinking and to carry out other basic needs.
It has been reported by reliable source that the oil company whose oil has spilled over the neighborhood has not come out to officially take claim of this hazardous spillage.
